This dutch oven is amazing and cooks superbly! I have been huntinting for the ideal dutch oven on a budget! Love the porcelain finish! Other dutch ovens I remember at it’s price point didn’t the beutiful white smooth interior but a black one (At least one had it not only black, but rough and not-so-smooth.)! Thr lid fits very well on top and has those spikes that help it “rain” moisture to help make dishes mouthwateringly delicious! The color I got was a pretty blue that looks good in our kitchen. I love that it’s oven safe up to 480° F which is I imagine is perfect for virtually every recipe of no-knead bread recipe out there. Besides this, there were dutch ovens that were up to 500°, but I don’t remember any of them having all the other desired features besides high temperature at it’s price point! Move over LeCreuset! From what I’ve seen, this trumps all the other enameled dutch ovens at or below it’s price range whether it be The Lodge, Tramortina (Cheaper, had a whopping 6.5 quart capacity, and a color similar to mine, but had a measly 450° Oven Safe Temp and small handles!), Amazon Basics (Oven safe to only 400°, are you for real?!), or Uno Casa. The only other oven that I remember that seemed to compete with it was the Puricon, which was oven safe up to a whopping 540°! However, it was only 5 1/2 quarts compared to my 6 quart Best Choice! In the end I preferred 1/2 quart more of capacity than the super high temperature (What recipe is there out there that requires such a high heat tolerance?!)! We’ve already used it to cook mexican pork cooked with tomato and onion as well as potatos and turned out amazing! This will become our little kitchen workhorse that will last us for years, probably decades to come (I can just feel it!)! I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets passed down through the family generation after generation! Move over LeCreuset and don’t get too cocky! There’s a new kid in town and his name is Best Choice! He brings quality and dependance at a much lower price!

Its just the right size and is better that I could have thought to expect I don’t need my money back thanks Wal-Mart!

  3. sherrill

I bought this Dutch oven to bake my SourDough Bread in! I have used it once and loved it. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the color! This is one very heavy duty Dutch Oven

  4. Jaweb

I at first bought one Dutch Oven to see what it was like because I couldn’t believe the reasonable price it was selling for. When it arrived, I lifted approximately over 20lbs of well constructed cast iron material sealed in a bubbleless, smooth finish. The lid had a rubber seal around the top allowing a quiet close. Two durable handles made lifting easy. Cooking was fantastic!!! No sticking, no burning, steam stayed within!! Cleanup was AMAZINGLY easy. I purchased an additional two as gifts and a second for myself. I would definitely recommend this oven to others! BCP best purchase again!! JW

  5. Steve

Great preforming dutch oven . Work as good or better that more expensive brands. Really good.

  6. CAROLYN

We LOVE the color, the weight, the shape and are looking forward to using it for the holidays.

  7. AvidCustomer

Nice looking! Hoping to get some delicious food made in my new Dutch Oven. Very heavy, though!

  8. jagar

Very well made, heavy weight product.

  9. Mary

A little heavy but I love cooking in it.

  10. asif

The enamel isn’t smooth. I went by the reviews but now that I bought it the packaging was damaged and the main white enamel surface has tiny tiny uneven spots and since it comes with 60 days manufacturers warranty then I bet it will wear out quickly. No wonder why people goes for the high end brands like La Creuset . I called their CS before placing this order and they have horrible customer service agents who has no skills of their own product. She gave me false information and I placed this order.

  11. Ramona

Love this Dutch oven. Its heavy duty cast iron with a great coating. Easy to clean, just be sure to oil the rim of the pot and the lid as that is not coated. Its the perfect size for a batch of stew or soup, yet also great for the oven.

  12. Valentina13

Thins is a very versatile and useful pot.You can cook and bake in it. You can put a small pan in water bath in it and a cheesecake will cook perfectly. The enamel on the outside chips off easily, thats why I knocked off one star. But it is good value for the money

  13. barbara

I love this Dutch oven! First time I ever made a pot roast in one it turned out great. Cleans very easily.Very sturdy and well worth the price.

  14. K. M. Hall

This is an attractive Dutch oven, love the blue color, and its easy to clean and great for baking good sized loaves of sourdough bread! But it is pretty big, so if you have a small oven you might go for a 5qt. size.

  15. PR

Ive only used twice but so far so good. It is really nice to cook in. Browns & braises very well. Holds the heat & cleans up easily in spite of the heavy weight. If it starts to chip or scratch Ill be dissappointed but chalk it up to getting what I paid for. If it holds up for years then Ill be very pleased I didnt dish out $300 to have the fancy French brand.

  16. Amazon Customer

I bought this after Christmas because Ive always wanted one. Ive been overly careful about soaking it before washing because I assumed it would be hard to clean. Not so! My husband does not \”pre-wash\” anything before putting it in our dishwasher. He made a dish and stuck it in the dishwasher with stuck on noodles and all and it came out spotless! I was shocked and pleased!

  17. ma gooch

I’ve been wanting a pot like this for years and I was definitely not disappointed. It’s a little heavy but cooks perfectly.
